In June the EFB General Assembly approved proposals to replace EFB Sections with more broadly based Divisions, one of which will be a completely new Biocatalysis Division.  The Co-Chairs will be Ulrich Schwaneberg (Aachen) and Jan Marienhagen (Jülich).  Maria Hernaiz (Madrid) is the Division Honorary Secretary.

Like the EFB Executive Board, the new Division Board is very keen to strengthen our links with AFOB.  The Division will hold its inaugural meeting on-line on 26th November.  It will be free to all EFB and AFOB members and AFOB speakers will be included in the excellent scientific programme.  Details how to register for the meeting will be posted on the EFB website soon: www.efbiotechnology.org.

Two other new Divisions will cover Plant, Agriculture and Food Biotechnology, and Biopharmaceutical and Medical Biotechnology.
