The 7 th AFOB Presidential Election
AFOB President (2024-2026) Election
I. Term
A. The President is elected to a two-year term and may run for the second and the last term.
II. Application
A. Two candidates can apply for candidacy from each member region.
B. All candidates should submit his/her curriculum vitae and statement of commitment along with their application form.
C. All applications should be submitted via Vice-President to AFOB Secretariat.
III. Process
A. Submissions of candidacy will be received from 22nd April, 2024 to 17th May, 2024.
B. The list of candidates will be distributed on 20th May, 2024 to all Vice-Presidents and Executive Board Members. The election campaign will start from 20th May, 2024 and end on 5th July, 2024.
C. Voting for election will start from 8th July, 2024 and end on 18th July, 2024. All votes will be taken via emails to the Secretariat.
D. The result will be shared with all Vice Presidents and Board Members. However, if revote takes place, the final result will be made public after the revote.

V. Votes
A. Each region takes minimum two votes (one for Vice President and the other for an Executive Board).
B. Remaining votes for Executive Boards can be distributed based on the total number of participants in three recent ACBs. (i) If host region’s number of participants is the highest among others, the number will be replaced with the next highest number of participants of other region. (Ex). In ACB 2019, Taiwan (host region of ACB 2019) had the highest number of participants of 394. However, this number will be replaced with that of Korea’s (111) which had the next highest number of participants in ACB 2019 following Taiwan.

C. Basic formula for vote distribution:
2(Vice President and one executive board member) + α
(α = 4 x A/Amax, round off α)

E. Each regional Vice-Presidents should submit the list of voters by the due schedule, according to the number of votes for each member region as in V. D.
F. All votes will be taken as an independent vote of each voter.
G. Individual voting will be made by email to the Secretariat.
H. Revote
i) When there is a tie between top two or more candidates, the eldest shall be elected.
ii) Revote takes place between the top two candidates when the number of
votes for the leading candidate is less than 25% of the total votes enrolled.
iii) In case of reappointment of the sitting president, he/she needs the votes
from the majority of Vice-Presidents.
I. Only the number of votes for the top two candidates will be made public in the announcement of final result.
J. If any objection occurs among the Board regarding V. H., the full result will be made public to the Board.
