Despite the substantial ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic across the world, academic activities in Thailand are still maintained regularly in one way or another. TSB is a short name for The Thai Society for Biotechnology. The TSB was formed more than 30 years ago to promote Thailand's biotechnological researchers' academic activities through annual international meetings on the exchange of knowledge in ideas and research projects between countries. When the pandemic first hit, it was hard to imagine that international conference activities were feasible online nearly a year ago. But after a year, it has been proved that at least remote meetings for academic activities still could happen. On the last 26th of November 2020, The Annual Meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference was organized for the 32nd time with the theme of Bio-circular-green biotechnology for new normal. For the first time in the online platform, the activity was held, which attracted 58 Oral Presentations, 51 Poster Presentations, and 6 invited speakers from Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan. Besides, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Taherzadeh from the University of Boras, Sweden, and Prof. Dr. Montarop Yamabhai, from the Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand, attended the conference as 2 main keynote speakers.

In 2021, Biotechnology's Thai society decided to keep holding on to academic meeting activities under the forms that adapt to the world situation. On this 2nd of April, there is one more conference beyond which is hosted by the TSB. The Thai Society for Biotechnology International Conference Online has been confirmed to occur online. All of the materials for the meeting have been turned into e-documents. This international conference focuses on the topics of "Green energy and Zero waste society." The last day for registration will end on the 26th of February. At the end of 2021, TSB is also heading to collaborate with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi to hold its 33rd time of "The Annual Meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference." In the theme of “Sustainable Bio-economy: Challenges and Opportunities”, the conference will officially happen from 25th to 26th of December and will be opened for registration on the first day of March. This activity is expected to be conducted by another virtual meeting till a better signal of the world pandemic.
